CBDT: Direct Tax Collection for ITR Filers Provided by the Income Tax Department Regarding 

The CBDT in a notification states that the gross Direct Tax collections for FY 2023-24 up to 9th July 2023 are at Rs. 5.17 lakh crore, higher by 14.65% over gross collections for the corresponding period of the preceding year. 

Net collections at Rs. 4.75 lakh crore are 15.87% higher than net collections for the corresponding period of last year.

Refunds of Rs. 42,000 crores have been issued up to 9th July 2023 which are 2.55% higher than the refunds issued during the corresponding period in the preceding year.

Tax Collection: As of now, Net Direct Tax Collection has increased by 15.87 percent to Rs 4.75 lakh crore on an annual basis during the financial year 2023-24. As per the notification released by the Ministry of Finance, the gross collection is Rs 5.17 lakh crore. This is 14.65 percent more than the gross collection of the same period last year. 

 

Refund Issued During 1st April 2023 - 9th July 2023

The Ministry of Finance also stated a refund amounting to Rs. 42,000 Crores have been issued from 1st April to 9th July 2023 which is higher 2.55% compared to the same period of last year.
