CBDT Introduced the New Income Tax Portal: Renovated Website For Income Tax Department

The newly improved website was introduced by Nitin Gupta, the Chairman of the CBDT, during an event called 'Chintan Shivir' in Udaipur. This event was organized by the Directorate of Income Tax (Systems).

The Income Tax Department introduced a new and improved website on Saturday, which now offers a more user-friendly design, additional features, and new sections.

The redesigned website was officially launched by Nitin Gupta, the Chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), during the 'Chintan Shivir' event in Udaipur, hosted by the Directorate of Income Tax (Systems).

To improve the experience of taxpayers and stay updated with emerging technology, the Income Tax Department has redesigned its national website, 'www.incometaxindia.gov.in.' The revamped website boasts a user-friendly interface, additional features, and newly added modules," stated the CBDT.

"The updated website now features a mobile-friendly design and incorporates a 'Mega Menu' for content, along with new features and functions. To assist visitors, these additions are explained through a guided virtual tour and new button indicators. 

The new functions allow users to compare different Acts, sections, rules, and tax treaties. All relevant content on the site is now tagged with Income Tax sections for effortless navigation.

Moreover, a dynamic due date alert function includes reverse countdowns, tooltips, and links to relevant portals to aid taxpayers in meeting their obligations. 

The revamped website is yet another step in enhancing taxpayer services and will continue to educate taxpayers while facilitating tax compliance," the CBDT added.
