In India, you can easily get an e-PAN through the Income Tax Department's e-filing portal. This quick process only requires your Aadhaar card, which should be linked to your PAN and have a registered mobile number. Getting an e-PAN not only saves time but also eliminates the need for offline procedures.

What is the e-PAN Service?

The e-PAN service provides instant PAN cards to users with a valid Aadhaar number. These electronically signed cards are swiftly issued upon verifying the user's information through Aadhaar-linked E-KYC verification. Users receive the e-PAN in PDF format, and the service is free of charge.

How to Get e-PAN?

1. Visit the Income Tax Department’s e-filing portal: https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/ 

2. On the e-filing portal homepage, click on “Instant e-PAN.”

3. On the e-PAN page, click “Get New e-PAN.”

4. Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar card number on the application page.

5. Check the checkbox and click “Continue.”

6. On the OTP validation page, click “I have read the consent terms” and then click “Continue.”

7. Enter the 6-digit OTP received on your linked mobile number.

8. Validate Aadhaar details with UIDAI by selecting the checkbox and clicking “Continue.”

9. On the Validate Aadhaar Details page, click “I Accept,” select the checkbox, and click “Continue.”

10. After submission, a success message screen will appear, displaying an acknowledgment number.

11. You will then see options to view e-PAN and download e-PAN. Choose the download option.
