Deadline Today for EPFO Higher Pension Application: Apply Now with Required Documents

Final Day to Apply for EPFO Higher Pension Scheme: The Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has set today, 11th July 2023, as the final day for its members to apply for the higher pension scheme.

Previously, a last chance of 15 days was granted starting from 26th June 2023. After today, it will no longer be possible to submit applications for the scheme. It's important to note that the deadline has been extended multiple times, but there is little possibility of another extension.

If you still need to apply for the EPFO higher pension scheme, today marks your last chance to do so. After July 11, 2023, no further applications will be accepted. Initially, the deadline to apply was June 26, but it was extended until July 11.

This additional time has been provided to ensure eligible members can receive their pensions in case of any technical difficulties with the portal.

Furthermore, employers have been granted until September 30, 2023, to upload the salary details of employees who are applying for a higher pension. As a result, members will likely receive an extension to apply for the EPS scheme.

Deadline Extensions for EPFO Higher Pension Scheme

The EPFO has extended the deadline for employees to apply for the higher pension scheme on three separate occasions. However, employers have been granted time until September 30, 2023, to upload member data. Consequently, it is possible that eligible pensioners may be given additional time to apply, taking into account any issues faced by employees. If further challenges arise within the EPFO, the government may extend the deadline once again.

Consider This as the Final Opportunity

According to experts, waiting for another deadline extension to apply for the higher pension scheme may not be advisable. With the deadline already extended three times, it is recommended to treat this as the last opportunity. If you encounter any difficulties while submitting your application online for verification, reaching out to EPFiGMS officials for assistance is advised.

Exercise Careful Application Submission

If you are planning to apply, it is crucial to exercise caution. Pay careful attention to filling in the pension-related information, especially personal details, as mistakes could result in a reduction of your pension amount.

Required Qualifications for Application

To benefit from the higher pension scheme, you will need to submit documents such as proof of contribution payment to the workers' provident fund, your Universal Account Number (UAN), and the Pension Payment Order (PPO) in the case of retirement.

Pension Calculation Process

For individuals who retired before September 1, 2014, the pension will be calculated based on the average salary of the 12 months preceding their departure from the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation. For those retiring or who have retired after September 1, 2014, the pension will be determined based on the average salary of 60 months.
