Simplified Update: New GST Invoice Management System (IMS) Features
The GST portal has updated the IMS Dashboard to give businesses more control over their tax credits. These changes make it easier to manage imports and correct errors with suppliers.
What’s New?
Import Tracking:
You can now see your Import of Goods (Bill of Entry) directly on the dashboard.
You can choose to "Accept" them or keep them "Pending" if the goods haven't arrived yet.
Flexible Credit Notes:
If a supplier sends a Credit Note (reducing your tax credit), you can now mark it as Pending for one month.
This gives you time to verify the return of goods before any tax adjustments happen.
Supplier Feedback (Remarks):
When you reject an invoice or put it on hold, you can now leave a short note (like "Price Mismatch").
Your supplier can see this note and fix the mistake quickly.
How Your Actions Affect Your Tax Filing
| If you choose... | What happens to your Tax Credit? |
|---|---|
| Accept | It is added to your monthly tax claim automatically. |
| Reject | It is excluded; you don't claim it. |
| Pending | It is pushed to next month; you claim it later. |
| No Action | The system assumes you Accept it. |
Why This Helps You
- Fewer Mistakes: You only pay for or claim credit on invoices you have verified.
- Better Cash Flow: You can delay tax reversals on disputed items.
- Easier Communication: No more back-and-forth emails; use the "Remarks" to tell suppliers what to fix.
