RBI Unveils "Statistical Handbook on Indian States for the Year 2022-23”

India is rapidly advancing as an economy and aims to sustain this growth, aspiring to attain developed economy status by 2047, marking the centenary of its independence. The country is dedicated to achieving robust, sustainable, and inclusive growth while addressing climate change challenges, aligning to achieve net-zero emissions by 2070. 

Spatial considerations are crucial in this journey, emphasizing the significance of comprehensive data on state/region indicators for effective policy examination and implementation at the sub-national level. 

To support analysis and research on these aspects, the Reserve Bank of India has been publishing the "Handbook of Statistics on Indian States" annually since 2016.
