But one thing to look out for is that many of these Aadhar card holders either mentioned the wrong address or moved out to another place. It is worth noting that a correct address on your Adhar card is very important. 

How To Update Your Address In Aadhar Card?

Having the right address is crucial for various official tasks, such as banks confirming your residence for sending checkbooks or credit cards, accessing government benefits like subsidies or scholarships, and activating SIM cards. Keeping your address updated ensures seamless access to these services.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to update your Aadhaar card address online:

Step 1: Visit the official UIDAI website: [https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/](https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/) 

Step 2: Enter your Aadhaar number and the registered mobile number. Click on "Get OTP."

Step 3: You will obtain OTP on your registered mobile number.

Step 4: Go to the bottom of the page and find the "Address Update" option.

Step 5: Click on "Update Aadhar Online."

Step 6: Navigate through the "How It Works?" page to understand the process.

Step 7: Click “Process To Update Aadhaar.” Select the Aadhaar data fields to update, focusing on the address.

Step 8: Locate your current address and enter the new address in the "Details to be Updated" section.

Step 9: After entering the new address details, upload the required Aadhaar card address change documents.

Step 10: Review and edit if needed. Click next. A Service Request Number (SRN) will be generated; keep it for future reference.

Step 11: Make a payment of Rs 50 to process the address update request.

Once submitted, you'll receive an Update Request Number (URN) to track the request status on the UIDAI website. Afterward, the address will be updated on your Aadhar card within 10 to 15 days of approval.

How To Update Your Address On The Aadhaar Card Through Offline Mode:

1. Visit a Permanent Enrollment Centre (PEC): Head to a Permanent Enrollment Centre near you.

2. Fill the Aadhaar Update Form (AUF): Complete the Aadhaar Update Form provided at the center.

3. Submit Documents: Along with the AUF, submit the necessary documents as proof of your updated address.

4. Pay Application Fee: Pay the required application fee for the address update.

5. Biometric Data: Provide fingerprints and undergo an IRIS scan at the enrollment center.

Once these steps are completed, the updated address will be incorporated into your Aadhaar card shortly.

How To Update Your Address On The Aadhaar card using the mAadhaar app

1. Download and Install the mAadhaar App: Get the mAadhaar app from your app store and install it on your mobile device.

2. Open the App and Enter Details: Launch the app, enter your Aadhaar details, and provide your registered mobile number.

3. Click on "Login": Tap the "Login" button after entering the required information.

4. Enter OTP: Input the OTP received on your registered mobile number.

5. Choose "Update Address": Once logged in, select the "Update Address" option.

6. Provide New Address: Enter your new address in the specified fields and upload a scanned copy of the required document.

7. Click "Submit": After entering the details, click "Submit" to send your update request.

8. Track Request with URN: Once submitted, you will receive a URN (Update Request Number). Track the status of your request using this URN on the mAadhaar app or the UIDAI website.

The updated address will be reflected on your Aadhaar card within 10–15 days once the request is approved.

Documents needed for updating your Aadhaar card address include

1. Passport: Yours, your spouse's, or for minors, their parents.

2. Bank Statement/Passbook: From a recognized bank or post office.

3. Ration Card, Voter ID, Driving License, Pensioner Card or Disability Card

7. CGHS/ECHS/ESIC/Medi-Claim Card: With a photo, issued by State/Central Govt or PSUs.

8. Utility Bills: - Including Electricity Bills, Water Bills, and Telephone Landline Bills (within the last three months).

9. Insurance Policy: Life and Medical types only.

10. Property Tax Receipt: Not older than one year.
